InterContinental Maldives Maamunagau Resort announces the promotion of Jean Claire Riveral Sumayod to Director of Spa and Wellness, effective June 2026, recognising her contribution to the resort’s spa and wellness offering.
Having been a valued member of the InterContinental Maldives family for over two and a half years, Jean has played a pivotal role in evolving the resort’s wellness and spa offering, helping to shape a more holistic and guest-centric approach to relaxation.
Prior to her promotion, she served as Spa and Wellness Manager, where she was responsible for strengthening team development while supporting the continued growth and operational excellence of the spa. Combining a calm, people-focused leadership style with a deep understanding of luxury hospitality, Jean has been instrumental in elevating service standards and contributing to the long-term evolution of the resort’s wellness vision.
Most recently, she was nominated for the Hotelier Maldives Wellness Personality of the Year Award, recognising her contribution to spa and wellness within the Maldives hospitality industry. She also achieved 100% Colleague Heartbeat score, reflecting her exceptional commitment to team engagement and development. These accomplishments, alongside her continued leadership and impact, have culminated in a well-deserved promotion to Director of Spa & Wellness, recognising her role in shaping both the guest and colleague experience at the highest level.
